Telecommunications systems now allow, via ISDN (integrated Services Digital Network) lines, video images from C.C.T.V Camera to be received at a remote monitor in less than two seconds.
C.C.T.V. cameras can be fitted with motion detection devices which will automatically switch on the camera when its scanning area is intruded upon. The signal received in our 24 hours a day manned control room and displayed as an image on a T.V Monitor. The duty Controller will then decide on the appropriate action to take:
1) Maintain observation only (e.g. Animal Intrusion)
2) Police notified via 999 system. Suspicious person on site.
3) Break in or vandalism in progress. Police Notified via 999 system and recording switch to "real time". Mobile Security Officers dispatched to act as Police liaison. Keyholder notified.
A Log of all incidents will be kept and maintained for at least 12 mouths.
All tapes will carry a date/time signal generated by the recording system to demonstrate the integrity of the tape. Copies of all "real time" recording will be made available to the Police for possible prosecution purposes.
In addition to the basic system it is possible with the right technical equipment on the customer site to carry out regular site patrols at agreed frequencies with the Duty Controller acting as in effect the site patrolling Guard and reacting to any events observed during his patrol.
